Biography

Dr Wichelmann grew up in St Paul, MN, and attended the University of Minnesota for his undergraduate education where he studied biology and the history of medicine. During college, Dr Wichelmann worked as a medical scribe in two urban emergency departments in the Twin Cities. After college, he attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Dr Wichelmann completed his internal medicine residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, and served as chief resident for the internal medicine residency program after graduation. Afterwards, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Henry Ford Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI, and served as the chief fellow in his third year of training. Dr Wichelmann and his family moved to the state of Wisconsin to be closer to family, and he is excited to join an excellent team of clinicians at MCW.
